From "Quaderni di Scienza della Conservazione" to "Conservation Science in Cultural Heritage": we are not transforming, but we are evolving remembering our past.
From 2000 till 2007, the Review has given life and sense to an idea that refers to a metabolic process of creation and evolution. This process takes its roots from a previous cultural heritage, but also from a simultaneous infatuation and involvement in the field of culture which proves to be at the same time very complicated, multifaceted and also fascinating. However, this field demands both a thorough historical-humanistic knowledge and a sense of creativity emerging from artistic pondering, but also requires to improve and complete methodologies and techniques to be applied to the study of cultural heritage.
Those reasons were given to the "Dipartimento di Storie e Metodi per la Conservazione dei Beni Culturali dell’Alma Mater Studiorum Universit� di Bologna (sede di Ravenna)" and to the "Progetto finalizzato Beni Culturali – Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche – Roma" which was to become "progetto EUREKA – European Agency Cultural Heritage (Area della Ricerca CNR – Roma – Padova, E.S. Sistemi – Roma, Inet – Genova)". The evolutions of our modern world that have revolutionized numerous fields, such as that of transports allowing people to be and feel nearer from one continent to another, but also such as the computer field with the birth and growing of the Internet that creates easy links between people from all over the world, lead us to be in touch with people of the whole world. Scientific contributions easily come from all over the world and an overseas reader is nowadays able to know about our Review. Triggered both by the context and readers’ demand, we have decided on publishing the Review as soon as the issue n. 7 in English and, in order to make it immediately accessible, both on electronic and paper support. We inform that the original structure and editorial line shall be maintained. This decision provides an answer to the idea of growing internationalization that appears fundamental in our XXIst century’s society, as much as it is the case in miscellaneous fields such as economy or culture which actually goes through space, time and cultures. This evolution also echoes the will to make information accessible to anybody and the growing need for information in our society – when right and complete – on issues concerning our field of interest, for which specific bibliographical references, even at an international level, prove to be rather poor. The author submitting a paper may, however, have the possibility to send his paper in Italian, French, English, German, when the reasons are scientific, i.e when the Italian research happens to have some particular significance in Italian. In that case, the editorial staff will put a translation into English forward and the eventual English version of the paper shall be followed by the original text. I think that the Academy has to make "information" more accessible so as to ease "education" striving towards ensured and right aims. (Salvatore Lorusso).

Da "Quaderni di Scienza della Conservazione" a "Conservation Science in CulturalHeritage": non ci si trasforma, ma si fa tesoro del passato.
Dal 2000 al 2007 la Rivista ha dato forma e, ad un tempo, significato ad una idea, riconducibile ad un percorso metabolico di formazione e di spessore, che risentiva di una eredit� culturale precedente ma anche di un simultaneo innamoramento e poi pieno coinvolgimento di quel mondo, cos� complesso, poliedrico ed altrettanto affascinante, che impone la profondit� della conoscenza storico-umanistica, la creativit� derivante dal turbamento artistico, ma anche l’assicurazione e il completamento della metodologia e della tecnica applicate nello studio del bene culturale. Si � cos� risposto pienamente agli intenti e alle finalit� scientifiche delle Istituzioni presso cui � sorta la Rivista: il "Dipartimento di Storie e Metodi per la Conservazione dei Beni Culturali dell’Alma Mater Studiorum Universit� di Bologna (sede di Ravenna)" e il "Progetto Finalizzato Beni Culturali – Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche – Roma" divenuto poi "Progetto EUREKA – European Agency Cultural Heritage (Area della Ricerca CNR – Roma – Padova, E. S. Sistemi – Roma, Inet – Genova)". Ma la crescita e l’acquisizione di spazi nonch� di contributi scientifici tanto diversificati quanto degni di encomio pervenuti nel tempo, sempre con maggiore frequenza, ci hanno indotto – anche su richiesta di lettori di altri Paesi – a iniziare, con il Fascicolo n. 7, la pubblicazione della rivista in lingua inglese ed in versione elettronica oltre che cartacea, in modo da renderla accessibile prontamente, mantenendo costanti struttura e intenti redazionali. Si � cos� risposto non solo ad una conseguita visione di internazionalizzazione che risulta fondamentale nella attuale societ� e nelle corrispondenti branche della economia e della cultura al di l� di limiti spaziali, culturali e temporali, ma anche ad un naturale bisogno di informazione – per quanto possibile corretta e completa – su problematiche inerenti al suddetto settore, per il quale la specifica bibliografia, anche a livello internazionale, risulta piuttosto limitata. L’autore, se lo riterr� pi� funzionale, potr� comunque inviare il suo lavoro anche in italiano, francese, inglese, tedesco, poich� sar� la stessa redazione a tradurlo in inglese: in tal caso alla versione in inglese seguir� quella nella lingua di origine. Penso che l’Accademia debba svolgere un servizio agevole di "informazione" allo scopo di permettere conseguentemente la "formazione", mettendo a frutto i mezzi pi� opportuni per il conseguimento di obiettivi sicuri e corretti.
